How can we help?
There are several ways in which we aid primary schools throughout the diocese.
Would you like to arrange a training opportunity for staff and/or governors.
Would you like to arrange a day of reflection or retreat for your staff and/or governors.
Would you like to arrange an interactive talk at your school for your Y6 pupils reflecting on vocation, sacraments of baptism and confirmation, marriage, religious life, priesthood, seminary, gifts and talents etc.
Would you like for pupils to experience one of our popular events or take part in one of our diocesan initiatives. Schools have previously experienced: Seminary/Convent/Monastery tours; Creative drama and music days; Vocation Masses; Competitions; Design an Art & Prayer booklet; Make a video diary of your parish priest; and much more. Find out more by contacting Chris Smith on 0121 355 4163 or by emailing.
We also provide resources for schools to use in class or for pupils to use at home. Please visit our resources page to download.
New Major Initiative
As part of the diocesan celebration for the “Year for Priests”, announced by Pope Benedict XVI which runs from June 19th 2009 until June 19th 2010, the vocations team in partnership with the diocesan RE department will be launching an online area dedicated to providing resources and ideas for the RE curriculum relating to the Catholic faith for teachers in both primary and secondary areas. We will keep you informed as this project develops.
